Ava the Amazing

Now, let me introduce an extraordinary woman named Ava. I met Ava via a common Facebook group named Black Iron Nutrition Wonder Woman. It is a group of people that are following the same lifting program developed by a group of fucking awesome women via Krissy Mae Cagney. While reading some of the posts that ladies were putting up, I noticed a girl that was from Colorado like me! I instantly introduced myself to her mainly because she said she had quit her job and started her own food business for health. I was instantly interested because I knew that HAD to take a lot of balls and dedication (and one day I’d like to grow my own set of big balls and do the same thing). Let me first tell you about her company Mindfull Meals. It is owned and operated by Ava Truckey, Denver native, food-lover, home-chef, and community server. After a lifetime of obesity followed by the birth of her daughter in  August, 2016, Ava knew she needed to change the legacy of her current self. In January, 2017, she made a commitment and through changed eating habits and exercise has since lost almost 100 pounds.

Since acknowledging the importance of nutrition and how it drastically changed her life, Ava knew she wanted to give back to the community. All menus are free of refined sugar, include the macronutrient breakdown and can be made gluten and dairy free. Wholesome, ethnically diverse menus that are based around seasonal, organic produce and with animal products that are natural and humanely raised.

BUT….DON’T GO ANYWHERE….I have GOT to tell you her story! It’s absolutely amazing. I wanted to share this with you mainly because I know so many out there that are in the same boat as Ava, and really have no idea where to start. IMG_0184

Here are Ava’s words:

“I wish I would have started sooner. For as long as I remember, I never did feel like I was living the life I was meant to. I allowed my weight to hold me back from experiences and going after the life I envisioned for myself. Between food addiction and drug addiction, I figured the blueprint for my life was already written in stone.

And then I had my daughter.

Although I believe it’s important to make life changes for yourself, I would be lying if I didn’t say Scarlett was the catalyst. How could I raise a warrior woman, afraid of nothing, confident, and a goal chaser if I hid in the shadows? In January 2017, I decided that I had to lead by example and prove to myself that you really can change anything and everything about your life if they’re not serving you. I vowed to myself I would fix my relationship with food. I started a business serving people and I left a career I was no longer in love with. I fell in love with myself and the life I was building for my family and I.

The decision I made to get my certification in nutrition through Precision Nutrition came naturally. I gravitated towards helping women and mothers going through the same struggles I had and I wanted to show through my experiences all of the possibilities. Losing almost 100 pounds hasn’t been easy. Starting a business wasn’t easy. Leaving a comfortable and stable career wasn’t easy. Being a mother, entrepreneur and getting my certification wasn’t easy. But they were all the best decisions I’ve ever made.

KUDOS to my new friend, Ava, who is one of the strongest and most dedicated women I know. If you’d like to know more about Keto and the Keto diet, please feel free to contact me and/or Ava! shelbydub11@gmail.com or Ava.

You ALL are such amazing people! If you need to see a change, you need to make a change. You have already started by reading this amaze-balls post! 😉
